Welcome to The Cotswolds

You are thinking of taking a short break and hear the Cotswolds may just suit your needs.  Located in the Heart of England within a triangle between Oxford, Bath and Stratford-Upon-Avon, this is an England steeped in history, from early Saxon times to the carnage
of the English Civil War in the 17th century.

The beautiful churches and villages were shaped by the prosperity of the medieval wool merchants. The splendour of the local craftsmanship is ever-present in the shape of tithe barns, churches, farms and cottages. The Cotswolds are the finest example of English domestic architecture and it is to the villages that the visitor is drawn. The limestone cottages take on a golden glow when the rising sun caresses the stone but you are also likely to witness this magical sight on a beautiful autumnal afternoon.

Many of the statuesque manor houses have been turned into lavish country house hotels and accommodation is ably provided in these or the many B & Bs and inns. The area is not short of fine dining experiences, and whether you choose an inn or a country house restaurant, your appetite will be well catered for.

So sit back and enjoy a taste of what the region has to offer…The Cotswold Experience…and, if you choose to visit this enchanting corner of England, be sure to have as your companion one of our guides or walking maps.
